Mark Kauzlarich previews the first part of the Geneva fall 2026 auction season, covering lots at Christie's and Antiquorum that together number over 1,225 watches. The piece highlights F.P. Journe tourbillons, Patek Philippe references such as a Khanjar Nautilus ref. 3700 and a ref. 1518, and a group of independent makers at Christie's. It then turns to Antiquorum's student-made watches, vintage Rolex and Vacheron Constantin pieces, and esoteric automatons and pocket watches.

Auctions: The 2026 Geneva Fall Auctions Mega-Preview, Part 1 — Christie's and Antiquorum

By Mark Kauzlarich

Mark Kauzlarich of Hodinkee previews the first part of the Geneva fall auctions, covering Christie's and Antiquorum. Christie's leads with F.P. Journe, including a brass movement Tourbillon estimated at CHF 650,000 to CHF 1,400,000 and two watches formerly owned by Michael Schumacher. Kauzlarich highlights Patek Philippe lots such as a yellow Khanjar Nautilus ref. 3700 and a ref. 1518 returning to market. At Antiquorum, Kauzlarich sees the most deals in the vintage catalog, including about 20 watches made by students at watchmaking schools. Kauzlarich remains unsure whether collectors will keep paying these prices.

  • Liked: Antiquorum's student-made school watches often match or exceed the quality of the brands' own models
  • Open question: Whether F.P. Journe prices will keep rising is unclear, and this fall will be the test
