Brandon Moore of SJX goes hands-on with the JM Fleury Chronograph Openwork, priced at CHF59,000 excluding taxes. Moore finds the FM04 a distinct movement that refines the Lemania 2310 rather than copying it, with finishing that justifies the price.

Brandon Moore of SJX goes hands-on with the JM Fleury Chronograph Openwork, a hand-wound chronograph from the independent brand run by Jean-Marc Fleury, who spent years manufacturing components at Patek Philippe. The watch reveals a new side of the FXR-4 chronograph through sapphire dial elements set over a selectively open-worked main plate. Moore sees the in-house FM04 movement as more than a recreation of the Lemania 2310, citing a larger 32.5 mm diameter and a chronograph drive integrated beneath the fourth wheel bridge. Moore calls the finishing high and the price of CHF59,000 an appealing value, while finding the 40 mm titanium case on the chunkier side. SJX produced the review in partnership with Fleury Manufacture.
